The mission of this ministry is to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all
who will receive, maintaining purity of doctrine. This ministry
stands firmly on the word, not being swayed or carried about by every whelm of doctrine. The mission of the Apostolic Faith is to spread
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We accomplish this as we make PRAYER the basis of every, encouraging others to grow into spiritual maturity. We model the original Pentecostal doctrines of salvation, sanctification, baptism of the Holy Spirit, continually striving to develop fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ. Spreading the Gospel through spoken word, spiritual guidance, and worship is our most important mission of all.
Founder, Bishop Alphonzo D. Brooks
The Way of the Cross Church of Christ was founded in Washington, DC by the late Bishop Henry Chauncey Brooks in 1927. Out of this ministry several ministries have been birthed. In the year of 1992 the Galilee Way of the Cross Church of Christ was established by our founder Bishop Alphonzo D. Brooks. Bishop Brooks traveled to Atlanta many Sundays after his Sunday morning services in Washington, DC. The church was growing and souls were being blessed. Later, Bishop Brooks commissioned Bishop Walter Thompson, senior elder at the Way of the Cross Church in Washington, DC, to continue the work in Atlanta. He labored faithfully for 4 years at Galilee. In 1996 the Lord called Bishop Carlos and Missionary Lisa Simon into the vineyard as laborers to build upon the foundation originally laid by Jesus Christ. Bishop and First Lady have purposed their hearts to follow the call of God, by leading others to worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth. God continues to honor their obedience and reaffirm their godly purpose. Galilee is currently settled on a beautiful piece of property in College Park, GA.
